This section is included to motivate me to get off my ass and get to work on these projects, some of which have been in the works for a while, and some that are actually in process. I figure if i put it right in front of my face i’ll be more apt to get on with it. “If you will it dude, it is no dream.”
BUDAPEST CALLING – My proposed novel based on the ridiculous year i spent in Budapest living, working and searching with 3 other Canadian lads in one 4 bedroom apartment. Beer, palinka, marijuana, Slovakia, treehuggers, waterbeds, South Africans, doctors, whippets, Viagra, pool, darts, hockey, Germans girls, gypsies, Norwegian girls, the Russian Mob, taxis, pointy shoes, Bootylicious, Pearl Jam, Serbian girls, Vegas suppers, monopolies, bands, Brits, rump shakers, Romkert, Americans, parties, theft, poverty, dissent, grey books from Vienna, skis, cabins, tiny cars, bathhouses, blood, French onion soup and, uh, Hungarians are all somehow involved.
VICES – Meditations on wine, women and song drawn from many late nights of gigs, girls, drinks and tours. This one is actually underway with several pieces done and many more to come. It’s my modest tip of the hat to Bukowski & Klosterman, but way shittier.
HOT DOG vs. SKI SCHOOL and other epic movie battles. – This one was conceived with the Captain during a debate over which was the greater ski comedy. We devised a scoring system, sat down to watch the 2 films and appointed a moderator for the objective stuff, such as the ‘general radness’ category. We have since lined up several more battles, but have yet to create all the scoring systems and actually re-watch them all under moderation. This may start out as a web-based endeavour once we get it all rolling, but a book is the final goal.
