- Larry Dallas - Three's Company. The greatest sleazeball womanizer of the 70's that didn't have to pretend he was gay.
- Dr. Johnny Fever - WKRP. "All right fellow babies, that was The Doors, and this is sort of Johnny Fever, kind of doctor. And after... nine drinks, Venus Flytrap is catatonic, and I, myself, have personally just seen a giant pig. He is currently painting the walls of our lobby."
- Frank Costanza - Seinfeld. Festivus, the Bro, the stop-short... shall i go on?
- Jamie Coleman - Men Behaving Badly. Rob Schneider had a fantastic sitcom in the mid 90's that lasted a season and a half, mining the best material from the 'roommates and girlfriends' genre. (Probably loosely based on life at The Palace.) It was sadly cancelled shortly after the second season but i caught a rumour on IMDB that a February DVD release might be on the horizon. My anticipation for the new year just increased tenfold!
Honourable Mentions - Dwight - The Office. 'Dwight, bide your time wisely as you will soon rapidly ascend the ranks high into the top 5 currently reserved for the classics. From, Future Dwight.' Sadly or not, women usually get the short end of the stick in much of the sitcom writing, save for Laverne & Shirley and the ladies from Friends, which brings me to my mention of Phoebe, who kept all the other Friends' neuroses in check for 10 years with some pseudo-hippie babble and a guitar.
