Top 5 Tuesday Ninety-Two

This week's top 5 enters into arguably the most overblown category of musician; the guitarist. The iconic image of modern rock music is also the most saturated. Just check your local 'musicians available' listings for confirmation of that. Most of us, i predict, will be thinking rock on this one, but all genres are available to you. I will once again forego detailed explanation, as well as blatant choices, as hopefully the player and style will speak for themselves. Plus, rambling on about guitarists bores me, frankly. \m/

Top 5 Guitarists

  1. Django Reinhardt.
  2. Warren Haynes.
  3. Trey Anastasio.
  4. Bruce Cockburn.
  5. Martin Sexton.

Honourable Mentions - Slash - top of the modern rock crop, courtesy of Chilli, and Eddie Hazel, for tearing funk a new asshole with Funkadelic.

After reading these lists two things strike me as quite odd.....

1) Killer managed to NOT put both guitar players from Pearl Jam on the list....shocking!
2) Westmount and Ass Captain are not legally married or at least common-law by now.....stop the flirting or GET A ROOM!

#1-JAMES PATRICK PAGE-"Let me explain something about guitar playing. Everyone's got their own character, and that's the thing that's amazed me about guitar playing since the day I first picked it up. Everyone's approach to what can come out of six strings is different from another person, but it's all valid."

#3-Jimi Hendrix

#5-Joe Perry
