Top 5 Tuesday Eighty-Two

This one was brought on by the 80s theme from last week. I have consciously avoided veering into the cock rock genre as that would turn into a top 50 and is a category unto itself. I'm thinking more of the vintage 80s synth/pop/dance type of shit that dominated outside the mighty realm of metal. Let's like, totally do this!

Top 5 Songs From the 80s

  1. Jungle Love - The Time. Morris Day was the coolest motherfucker ever.
  2. Relax - Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Frankie says Relax.
  3. Darling Nikki - Prince. The original sexy motherfucker.
  4. Obsession - Animotion. Saturday Night's Main Event, baby!
  5. Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' - MJ. Back when Mike was the true King.

Kwik recap:
Video Killed the Radio Star - 1979 (I'm old, I remember).
Fight For Your Right, Final Countdown - You can get no more COCK than Europe and I just hope that Rick Rubin and Kerry King don't find out that you are lumping "Liscenced to Ill" in with synth pop. Those cats are scarey lookin' :P
The Message??? Pretty sure that was the 70's as well.
Oh Sherry??? WTF??? Wasn't that from the album, "I Can't Believe it's Not Journey - Light?"
Killer, I don't wanna feel your drunken anything you Pearl Jam lovin' child molestor you - LOL!!!
And can we puhlease keep Scotty's private parts outta future posts huh? Obsessed much Gay? LMAO!!
And finally, Ok - so the Dead recorded outta tune albums and "Touch of Grey"... Why do these magazines sponsored by Coke and McDonalds feel the need to keep pissin and moanin' about it? Is it because the boys made enough money to snort bowlin' balls nightly and fucked more pussy than James Brown without their help maybe huh??? Just a thought.
Big Love.

Posted by: Matty on April 30, 2006 08:17 AM

Fuck you all....it's a shame you guys never get to feel my drunken absinth feelings as they rock! BTW, GAY, it's hard to have an instalment of the drunking hot stove when Vag is not loged on da fucking skype!
P.S. Vag...i want a copy of the new PJ, can I take it home before the on sale?
....man, Roger Waters is playing at Red Square June 24.....I can't fucking wait!

Posted by: Killerov on April 29, 2006 10:09 PM

it's sadly true. the dead's american beauty and most of workingman's dead are the only albums that can stand on their own as great records. but really, you need to see them live.

Posted by: scotty on April 29, 2006 05:51 PM

By the way Killer, surprisingly enough the new Pearl jam record doesn't suck.

Posted by: metal vagina on April 29, 2006 05:50 PM

From Blender magazine, the 11th worst thing to happen to music....and I quote...."You really have to see them live" - First heard muttered by a proselytizing Grateful Dead fan sometime around minute 13 of the studio version of Terrapin Station Pt. 1, this refelctive, defensive cry has been long used as an excuse for the existence of reams of irretrievably dull Phish, Widespread Panic and Moe records. If your studio albums feel limp compared with your live show, don't put them out.

Posted by: batman on April 25, 2006 11:00 AM

Ah Batman...you were nutting but a sperm in your daddy's sack in the 80's so you should leave it for us Fine Gentlemen! I believe you were looking for Nena's 99 Luftballons!

Hast du etwas Zeit für mich
Dann singe ich ein Lied für dich
Von 99 Luftballons
Auf ihrem Weg zum Horizont
Denkst du vielleicht g'rad an mich
Singe ich ein Lied für dich
Von 99 Luftballons
Und das sowas von sowas kommt

99 Luftballons
Auf ihrem Weg zum Horizont
Hielt man für Ufos aus dem All
Darum schickte ein General
'Ne Fliegerstaffel hinterher
Alarm zu geben wenn's so wär
Dabei war'n dort am Horizont
Nur 99 Luftballons

99 Düsenflieger
Jeder war ein grosser Krieger
Hielten sich für Captain Kirk
Das gab ein grosses Feuerwerk
Die Nachbarn haben nichts gerafft
Und fühlten sich gleich angemacht
Dabei schoss man am Horizont
Auf 99 Luftballons

99 Kriegsminister
Streichholz und Benzinkanister
Hielten sich für schlaue Leute
Witterten schon fette Beute
Riefen: Krieg und wollten Macht
Man wer hätte das gedacht
Das es einmal so weit kommt
Wegen 99 Luftballons

Wegen 99 Luftballons

99 Luftballons

99 Jahre Krieg
Liessen keinen Platz für Sieger
Kriegsminister gibt's nicht mehr
Und auch keine Düsenflieger
Heute zieh ich meine Runden
Seh' die Welt in Trümmern liegen
Hab' 'nen Luftballon gefunden
Denk' an dich und lass' ihn fliegen
