In keeping with last week's 'monster riffs' theme, as promised, i bring the top 5 MONSTER FUNK RIFFS to the table. This opens up the options a little more for the big bad bass guitar, which should hold down the majority of the riffage, but a funky little wah wah guitar part could also steal the show. These suggestions are just the tip of the iceberg; hopefully y'all will sink the ship. 'Scotty, what choo gonna list now? Mahvin, what'sa evah i list, it gots to be FUNKY. 1..2..3..'
"sweaty slobbering bass player" that is
Posted by: batman on November 10, 2005 10:25 PMI don't have a "real" list... for funk I turn to "the cat empire" an aussie band who are amazing and have endured many years after the initial CD obsession (for me personally). check them out if you can.

Posted by: The Captain on November 8, 2005 03:37 AMNo comment as my limited funk knowledge comes from hanging w/Guy Jarvis and Scotty. I can say that the theme from Sanford and Son is my alltime favorite, followed by Kung Fu Fighting and Carwash. As for a Funky solo....Funkadelics' Maggot Brain.
