Top 5 Tuesday Fifty-Three

I was trying out some new shit with polls instead of lists, but the php poll script was messing it all up so until i get that sorted, back to the old list styles!

Top 5 People (alive or dead) That You'd Like to Drink With

  1. Johnny Depp. I'm pretty sure Johnny would have some wild stories from back in the day about wine, women and song, plus all of the different movie sets & actors he's been involved with. That, and he's the coolest man on the face of the earth. Drink of choice: Red Wine.
  2. Jim Morrison. I know y'all knew Jimbo would be on my list, so here he is. He's not #1 since he's dead, but man o man could Jim party! As long as i didn't actually die from the experience i think it would be a great night of drinking and debauchery. Drink of choice: Beer, Whiskey, Rum, Vodka, Acid, Peyote, etc...
  3. Bill Murray. Bill is a very funny guy, and a great actor, as he is proving to everyone these days. Conversations could stretch back to the original SNL cast right up to working with Jim Jarmusch on his latest movie. Drink of choice: perhaps Scotch on the rocks?
  4. John Bonham. I was thinking Keith Moon at first, but decided that would be a little too much, and more drugs than booze. Bonzo as we know drank a little too much, but on a tamer evening drums, women and the Mighty Zep could be discussed at leisure. Drink of choice: Vodka.
  5. Joel Gion. I know, you're all asking who the hell is this guy? He's the charismatic tambourine man from the original Brian Jonestown Massacre, loyal sideman and confidante of their genius songwriter Anton Newcombe, and from what i got out of the rockumentary Dig!, he's an absolute blast to hang out with. Drink of choice: Whiskey, and cocaine for good measure.

Honourable Mentions - I haven't read all that much Bukowski, but from what i gather from other books and interview footage i've seen, he can spin tales from the gutter like no other, and is a lifetime drinker. I was going to have Hunter Thompson on my list as well, but i fear death would be a very possible outcome of that evening.

1. George Daball - he was my dad's step-dad, my grandfather. we visited him every summer since i could remember on the lake he lived on till he died when i was 12. he was a good man, been in the war and such. it would be great to drink a stubby OV with him at this age!

I met a tasty Scotty in Michigan, we screwed 2 times then I left. Sometimes I think of my Scotty in Michigan. Why can't I stay in 1 place for more than 2 days.... WHY???

Posted by: Chilli on August 25, 2005 02:05 PM

Scotty betrayed me then he lied, tried to hide, and I died deep inside and you know the reason why.

Well now I feel like a heartless bitch cuz everyones naming personal favourites like friends & family..I thought ScAtty meant music idols!!
#1~Robynator~Its been 3.5 months that my dear great friend\roomie and I shared a pint (or made her do wine shots :))together while watching the guyz play or after a few shared too many a dance on the Gt's or even Poachers dance floor or even in the privacy of our own bachelor!!!Lest we forget our "Brass Door Groupie" dayz!!(Batman misses u)
#2~Vickster~What a gurl to drink with, give her a few Smirnoffs and unleash the kitty "meow"
#3~Great grandma-Reta-She was only 4'tall so I was well past her by the time I turned 8.She was famous for carrying around a black purse filled with all the neccessities for making the perfect Bloody Mary, dancing till her hearts content and after a few too many passing out straight up on the couch!Adorable!
#4~Justin n ScAtty~One night sticks out w\the Captain being ass-wasted,his 28th birthday buzzed the hell out of my apartment waking me up to go back 2 Brass for after hour shots, secret:Captain is a cuddler when drunk:)
Now ScAtty~New Years sticks out a bit(I was inihilated myself-Robyn thinks its funny every now and then to remind me that I made out with *&$#@!ha!)taking the IN SERVICE? elevator to the Palace before anyone else,or how about the pre-new years night celebration named "JAM NITE"of all time,Scattys on drums, drinking becomes too important so one hand is doing the trick! Then lastly recently @Poach came out into the crowd "Banging it like Bonham"
#5~I was gonna go with Gord but Id actually say Id rather babysit him then drink with him:)So I changed my vote to my mom AND my dad(since theres only supposed to be top 5).She gets silly is one way to put it!One night after a Dominican trip w\dad she started tapping into the 90 proof, thinking a shot was over half the glass, not pretty and she works @ the LCBO!!Dad~This man does not talk, ask any of my friends their still scared of him,hes a biker and has this intimidating feel to him because he barely says boo,but bring him to a campfire anywhere or bayfest and he talks not alot but a little and has a perma smile!!!Good man!(I had my 1st beer with him @ the young age of 9 due to this)

Posted by: Batman on August 24, 2005 02:12 PM

1. Bob Dylan
2. Robert Plant
3. Cameron Crowe - (can't believe I wasn't the first person to say Cameron!). The guy toured with Zeppelin in.the.70's!! Wrote for Rolling Stone, then wrote the book Fast Times at Ridgemont High.. THEN started his film career with Say Anything, a film that rendered me emotional available for years to all real men as they just weren't as good as Lloyd Dobbler. :) THEN he marries a rock star and starts making oscar nominated films. OMG!
4. A founding father. Can't decide which one, let's say Jefferson for today. So, you came up with a new form of government which ended up changing the world in a fundatmental way: what do you have to say for yourself and how did you do that?
5. My college roommates.

1.my dad ...because i know its a bonding moment when he actually gets generous enough to share his beer with me ...not to mention ..a good man

3. the capt... the drinks are free when he's playing and he's good enough to carry me home and get mcdonalds along the way.
4. robbin (sweet tits) melrose...i dont know if i could drink with (he's allergic..poor bastard) but the only man i will say yes to drugs with. nothing funnier than an evening stoned with melrose on a batch of the capt's weed cookies that some back stage betty baked for him.
5. ryan adams...so when he gets drunk and argumentative i can beat the snot out of him and tell him his music is great.
