Songs get stuck in your head, sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad. Sometimes it's just plain ugly (like the fucking Canadian Tire commercial theme - ask vagina) but it's best when it's just plain glorious. The beauty of a fave song is that it doesn't have to be from a band you particularly like; it could be a one-off from a hated band. That being said, i dig all the bands on my list, and here it is. Note it's for what you are listening to at this time, not all time, although they could potentially be one in the same for a few of your choices.

Top 5 Current Favourite Songs
Happy 36th Anniversary to Big H and the Bee!
Posted by scotty at July 12, 2005 09:23 AM1. AFI - This Time Imperfect, a hidden song which no one else understands, but i'm full out addicted. Especially when i'm driving. Just can not get enough.
2. Ryan Adams - Life Is Beautiful, first song to grab a hold of me from both discs, and still a car constant
3. The Specials - Too Much Too Young, happy-go-lucky, dance around the apartment music that never leaves disk slot 3 in the CD player
4. Girl From the North Country - Dylan & Cash, yum. Just yum. This one's on at work all the time.
5. Beck - Lost Cause, recently burned the CD, and got stuck on this one song... feels like its on its way out tho
Briman,
For a band that gets heavy rotation, it's hard for one individual song to get stuck in my head. To answer your question, I am ok....anxiously awaiting the new album and from what I hear, the songs will be choosen by audience reaction during the Fucking Canadian Tour that I am missing!

The String Cheese Incident, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Keller Williams, Xavier Rudd & Umphrey's Mcgee... Two Stages at the "Docks" in TO/ON. Damn MoFo!!! The change of venue (due to a strike), the hour long wait in 40 degree weather after security had confiscated our water, and the absence of two bands due to problems with "Canadian Customs" or sumthin' did nothing to spoil this freakin' unbelievable concert. Umphrey's - unfunkinbelievable. Jam rawk with tons o' funk and a little metal c/o slik dual guitrs. Gus bought the set - I listened this marnin' just to make sure I wasn't imaginin' shait - superb! Xavier Rudd was insane man. One Australian, three didgeridoos, a slide guitar, an acoustic, a bass drum and various other percussion toyz - man, cat can play. Not to mention the fact that his crowd was massive. Keller Williams was pretty good for what I saw but we decided that we wanted to try and get front row for the Franti after witnessing his keyboard player jam with UM and the man himself bust out some freestyle rhymez with tha Xman. Mission accomplished! I've heard it said that Harper is a religious experience - well, that's what this felt like. #1, I've never been at the front of a crowd so big and able to watch/dance/groove so comfortably. The band were beyond sick! Michael jammed tha acoustic. He stomped his stompblock. He spat verse and danced. He told stories of his partonage to tha Middle East. He sent out music to Mr. Bush himself as a token of goodwill and hope for peace. As if shit weren't crazy enuff, at the end a few of the Cheeses came out for a big drum circle and Michael led them down thru the crowd (we had to help lift a few of them down :), out the back and onto the patio for a rousing 20 minute drumdown complete with hoola hoopers, mascots and dancing gurls!! There was more Keller jammin with tha Umphreys and the mighty SCI after but all that was suite wind down for me after tha men themselves killed!!
BIG Love!
PS. I kno that this isn't a list of my favorite songs but man - when Bush announced that the US were going to war, Franti went over to Iraq to busk on the streets and in the hospitals. His newest album is called "Everyone Deserves Music" and he is highly under-rated!
What's up with Killer ... no P.J. ??? Are ya feeling ok man???
1. MFC : Pearl Jam - Yes Vagina there are good Pearl Jam songs released after "Ten and Verses"
2.My Wave : Soundgarden - classic grunge ( I miss grunge)
3. Free : Donavan Frankenreiter - not too sure if the Fairmonts are doing this one but they should be.
4. My Own Two Hands -Ben Harper - Always makes me want to go out and help make the world a better place, but I don't ever get off the couch.
5. Lose Yourself : Eminem - In my opinion the best workout song recorded .
1. Melissa - Allman Bros. - Unfortunately I associate this song with a pathelogical ex, but it's too good to pass up.
2. Fix You - Coldplay - Lucky Duck Gwenyth Paltrow - this song gives me shivers.
3. One April Day - Stephin Merritt (Pieces of April soundtrack) - Loved the entire soundtrack but this song especially stands out...great movie too
4. Old Dirt Hill (Bring that Beat Back) - Next to Dream Girl, which Scooter already picked, this is my current fave on the new Dave...the simple lyrics "first time I kissed you I lost my legs" turns me into a puddle of mush.
5. Love Bites - Def Leppard - I have to throw this one onto the list given that it mine and my first boyfriend's "song" and it was probably the first song I slow danced to, touching bums!
Damn, that was a lot harder than I thought it would be!

4.The Shape I'm In - the Band - this song makes me wet! it's so juicy
5.Forty-six and Two- Tool - this song forces me to beat the shit outta my stearing wheel! HEAVY!!
Posted by: The Rosa on July 13, 2005 02:17 PM1. Nutz on Ya Chin: Easy-E - This delightful ditty has recently resurfaced with the come back of the 'Shizzle Nizzle' mix. From the 'Str8 Off Da Streetz' album, which also brought other classics such as Sippin On A 40 and Hit The Hooker.
2. Dakota: Stereophonics - This wouldn't be an album that I'd go out and buy, but having Scotty play it a minimum of 10 times a day tends to drill it into your head. I have to admit that it's pretty catchy though.
3. Lodi Dodi: Snoop Dogg - Since the time I was 14 (and Scott was 28), I have always had a Snoop track in my top 5. Snoop took a lot of this song from Slick Rick, but I can forgive him. He's Snoop... he can do no wrong in my books!
4. Knuckledown: Ani Difranco - I saw Ani in Toronto back in April and she makes me fall more and more in love with her with every concert I see. This song has been stuck in my head ever since. (I know you hate her vagina, but you can't be a hater because she gets more chicks than you do)
5. Grace Is Gone: Dave Matthews Band- I think this song will remain on my top 5 for a very long time.
I do have to mention one more song and I KNOW I'll get shit about it, but I have to be honest.... Incomplete: Backstreet Boys - I just have to sing along everytime I hear it! (I know Dano will back me up)

1. Everything That I've Done Wrong--The Killers. I was never a big Killers fan, but when I saw the video, I was hooked...I mean hooked.
2. Lodi--CCR. Known this song for years, but lately, I don't know, it's at the forefront of my brain--Scotty & I even added it to the setlist.
3. Cold Roses--Ryan Adams. It was hard to get to the rest of the album after hearing this song...even though Scotty thinks it sounds like the Dead.
4. This Old House--Loretta Lynn. Off her new album--it's a catchy little number.
5. Just to Know What You've Been Dreaming--Will Johnson. Scotty introduced me to this song. It will break your heart.
I do agree with Amy about that Jenny from the Block. It's insane how long that song stuck in my head--soooooo fucking annoying. And let's not forget, let's not forget, it's a fact that I've had the Andy Griffith theme song in my head since I was 12.
Posted by: Capt. on July 12, 2005 03:11 PMI have a truly wacky list, showing how disturbed I really am...
1. CBS Sports Theme Song used during Men's NCAA Basketball Tourney. Da da da da daa daaa da da!
2. Dirty Water - song played at Fenway when the Red Sox win, and song I played on classic rock stations to infinity when I was growing up.
3. Jenny from the Block - This song is awful, but I sang it everyday with the guy who sat next to me at my old job. We couldn't stop. We were ill. Don't be fooled, by the rocks that I got.. you try to not sing along!
4. Only the Young (aka the Journey song from the movie Vision Quest). Inexplicable.
5. Some song from the Muppets show that I don't know the name of and can't even think how it goes right now because I've got: Da da da da daa daaa da da! in my head.
Damn you, Scotty, Damn You!
1. Velvet Revolver: Super Human - Pretty much covered the visit from my buddies and Paul and I's night at the Wigwam. "Cocain, alcohol, dirty lay, withdraw"
2. System of a Down: BYOB - It's got a great chorus "everybodies going to the party to have a real good time"
3. Poison: Every Rose has its Thorn - A shower staple to this day
4. G n R: Sweet Child o'Mine - Been listing to Appetite lately and even sang it a Karaoke (Way better than the Captain could ever do...he has rock n roll deficiency)
5. Foo Fighters: Your the Best - Typical Euro overplaying is killing this song!
