Top 5 Tuesday XXXXIV

This week's topic comes from the Captain, who suggested two similar topics. I was going to go with his first suggestion, top 5 sequels, and then figured everybody would just put down Empire Strikes Back and that would be that. Let me know if i'm wrong on that one! So onto his second and more intriguing suggestion...

Top 5 Sequels You'd Like to See
  1. Old School. I believe this one is actually in the works. Who doesn't want to know how Frank the Tank turns out, along with the frat in fully renewed force? Sign me up!
  2. Dazed and Confused. The day after the big night should bring to light many anticipated plots; Wooderson & Cynthia, the return of O'Bannion, the social growth of Mitch, a lotta beer & weed and the much anticipated Aerosmith concert!
  3. Almost Famous. The next one could just be called "Famous". Take us back on the road for a full headlining arena tour, drop in a hot up-and-coming opening band for added material/friction and let the next-level games begin.
  4. Spinal Tap. I know there was a second album, a couple of tv things, a reunion tour and even a live movie release, but not yet a full and proper second rockumentary. We know the guys are still at the top of their game (A Mighty Wind, anyone?) so let's do what needs to be done here!
  5. The Big Lebowski. I was hesitant to add this to the list, as you never want to tamper with genius by trying to equal or top a fantastic plotline, but if anybody could pull it off it would be the Coen Bros. I have watched this movie so many times that i would welcome seeing the Dude and Walter embark on another properly-scripted caper, providing (obsessive) fans with a slew of fresh quotes and another favourite movie to throw on late at night after a J and discover another hidden gem worked into the background somewhere. Sequels can elevate the bar (see Empire mention above), but then again, sometimes the bar eats you.

It took a lot of thought and a lot of watching the "Travel" channel to produce my sequel list:

1. Sensational Teens 2
2. Screw My Wife Please 47
3. Cum Swapping Sluts 9
4. Hardcore Schoolgirls 11
5. Booty Talk 61

God Bless the Travel Channel and Budapest Cable TV.

These blogs seem to be a big sausage party. What's going on guys? Have you scared all the ladies away? I may just have to agree with the Captain...you sick sons a bitches!

BTW Vagine, great to see you in the Couv. I'm sure you can't wait to tell everyone about all the statues you saw.;)

Finny, I'd have to agree with Old School, Dazed and Confused, and Almost Famous. I also wouldn't mind seeing a sequel to Finding Nemo...don't laugh. If you've seen the first one you would understand. Dazed and Confused would deffinetly be my number one choice for a sequel. What does happen at the Aerosmith concert?...Which chick does Pink finally decide on or does he just go with the flow?

R.I.P. Rock n' Roll Gee:

I am sad to announce the death of a rock n roll legend (much like Luke's father, he's been taken by some force). His blatent disregard for the most ROCKIN' band to hit Budapest since White Lion has left me in mourning (the Captain must have corrupted him durring his CDN trip w/that Jack Johnson shit). Yes I am talking about Budapest Gee. He decided to "chill" rather than go to the heaviest concert I have ever seen...Velvet Revolver! I will be expecting to find his copies of the 'Rockus for the Cockus' anthology burried in one of his garbages at home.
It's a sad, sad day.

Wow! Speaking of sequels that surpass their much lauded predecessors... I watched "The Life Aquatic" last night. Now I know those "industry" bratz that thought "Lost in Translation" was such a werk of genius will probably be crying that Aquatic, "falls short, lacks the flow of LIT, is missing the charm and sophistication..." Uhhmmm, yeah, whatever... In fact, I want to retitle the film. I want to call it "Bill Murray Stars in Something with a Slightly Interesting Plot". I mean he doesn't act or anything. He just plays himself like he did in the last overblown piece of hype but at least this time he is surrounded by people who act and a decent enough plotline. I fully recommend this movie as the sequel in Bill Murray's life to his 15 Minutes which he more than likely owes to "Coffee and Cigarettes" in which he plays himself, Bill "Fuckin'" Murray... LOL!!
Big Love.
Oh, and to all those who are offended on Bill's behalf - I'd be more than happy to sit with you in a large group and watch a "Groundhog Day", "A Life Aquatic", "Lost in Translation" marathon. Just so we can count how many people are actually awake at the end. LMAO!!
