The Summer. Beers. BBQs. Beaches. Cottages. Concerts. No matter how often i say that i'm going to cut down on summer concert spending, the lineups and offerings never fail to entice me to pummel my Visa card into submission with pairs of tickets to dozens of shows. Having our kickass "new" arena in downtown London now feeds that addiction even more so. So who are you most stoked to see this summer? Are they coming to you? Are you traveling to them? Throw the cooler in the trunk, roll that J and list'em up!
Top 5 Anticipated (or Recently Passed) Summer Concert Events
- Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Black Crowes. This makes the top of my list not only for being Petty, but as the only one on the list that i haven't seen live yet. Bring it!
- Allman Brothers Band, moe. I love the Allmans, haven't seen them in years, and have 6th row seats for the August show here in town. Sidenote: One of my bands from back in the day opened for moe. here in London for their very first Canadian show ever. Not like they'd remember that or anything. :)
- Pearl Jam. First full Canadian tour in years, and coming to London, Ontario. Madness! I hear tix sold out in a matter of minutes, but i managed to snag 3 presale tix at the front of the upper deck. I'll take it.
- **cancelled!!** Zooma Tour - Ben Harper, Trey, J5, G.Love. This is a fantastic lineup! Ben Harper live is like a religious experience, and i'm not religious! G.Love is summer funk at it's finest, Trey should be cool even without Phish and i have heard that J5 is fab live.
- Black Crowes. (a couple of weeks back.) I have seen the Crowes on their debut tour, and when they were headlining Furthur Festival i think on the 3 Snakes tour, but to see them in a smaller venue like the Kool Haus in Toronto and have them play muchos material from Southern Harmony... was killer! Top that off with a live bootleg available right after the show and we have a winner.
Alternate #4 - The Crue! Last month, again a shocker they came to London, had 7th row seats with metal vagina. Plus, a meet and greet/photo session before the show (photo to be posted shortly), midgets, dancers, psycho clowns, and 2 sets of kickass classics with more pyro than eddie murphy's bbq! Now that's a fire!

It's been a while since i have left a message on this site. Hello again to all...I finally have something to share.. I have been going through concert withdrawl the last year and a bit, since ofcourse Taiwan isn't a hot spot for tours. But this year I am forking out a GREAT deal of cash, hard earned money, and flying to Japan for Fuji Rock Festival. This concert holds the likes of Coldplay, Ryan Adams, Foo Fighters, beck and the list goes on and on and on..... Festival is from July 29 to July 31st.. Now, that is something to look forward too. FINALLY!!!
I read that i am missing some hot shows this year, all over the place.. Pearl Jam at the JLC (who would've thought).. I am amazed....
Killer?!? What the fuck are you babbling about? You think having Pearl Jam here is a stellar line-up...I'll take the bitches and beers.
