Top 5 Tuesday XXXIV

A quick one before work here today, based on the annual "Summer Movie Listing" that shows up in the paper in the spring. Some i've been waiting for awhile, and some just sound interesting or funny, but you can bet i'll catch'em all soon. You might notice a couple of the "super mega highly anticipated sequels" (read: Matrix) missing from this list. That's not to say i won't check it out, but to be honest i haven't even seen the complete first Matrix so i'm not losing sleep over it! So here we go with Top 5 Anticipated Summer Movies.

Top 5 Anticipated Summer Movies

  1. When Harry Met Lloyd. Being a big fan of Dumb and Dumber, i was pretty excited to hear this was in the works, then bummed when it didn't include the original cast, and now a bit re-stoked anyways, since it's probably just damn goofy.
  2. Bruce Almighty. Jim Carrey with God's powers. Not too far of a stretch, eh?
  3. A Mighty Wind. This is already open in select cities, mine not being one of them. Christopher Guest's subtle improv comic genius a la Best in Show and Waiting for Guffman, with much of the same cast and of course the Spinal Tap lads as a folk trio. Sweetness.
  4. Kill Bill. It's not supposed to be out until Fall, but the wait for a new Tarantino film has been so long that it will fly by and therefore qualifies for the Summer listing, get it?
  5. The Hulk. The only "blockbuster" on my list, i'm just curious to see how they pull this off "realistically". That, and i can't wait to once again hear the line, "You won't like me when i'm angry."

Man, nobody likes this topic. My .02 in no particular order:

X-2
Matrix 2&3
The Italian Job
When Harry Met Lloyd
A Mighty Wind

Not too shabby

5. The Hulk - I don't know about the computer animation, but I've always liked the Hulk.

4. I lost it. I think I need to cut back on the pot. My short term memory is shot! :)

3. A Might Wind - I laughed my ass off during Best In Show, so I'm excited to see what they do with the world of Folk Music.

2. Bruce Almighty - Jim Carrey as God...hmmmm?! Interesting.

1. Confidence - Judging by the previews it has some similarities to Snatch and Lock Stock. It looks really interesting.
