The Salads show down at Call the Office ruled last night! I was looking forward to this show for some time, and with the new CD just out and some radio and video play for their first single going on, the turnout was great even if a bunch of them were kids that only know them from this CD and first single. The hardcore fans amongst us were stoked that the band is finally blowing up, and also that we knew the older stuff that the kids didn't. You know, the usual music snob "we liked them first" attitude we all like to carry. :) A double encore sealed the deal, complete with a haphazard version of Motley Crue's Kickstart my Heart to end the night. Fun stuff! Check their website for some music and info - it'll be worth your while! Go Salads go.
Posted by scotty at March 14, 2003 11:34 AMLast night my sister took me to the annual St. Patty's Day Spirit of the West Show at the Comodore in Vancouver. What a crazy party! But, that's not why I'm telling you about it. I want to tell you about the opening act, WIL! OHMIGOD!! He is fucking amazing. On stage, Wil with his many guitars and a drumer. WOW! The last song he did by himself and I have never seen anything like it before. Wil and his guitar with 4, that's right I said 4, strings. He cut the 2 middle strings and played the most amazing song and made the most amazing music I have ever heard from just a guitar. I couldn't dance, as much as I wanted to, because I was in total AH of this talented musician. Blown away! I highly reccomend checking this guy out if you haven't already. WOW!! His CD is called "Both Hands". Keep your eye out for it and if you see it, buy it! You wont regrett it!

Posted by: scotty on March 16, 2003 02:05 PMFirst of all I have to thank you Mr. Finlayson. Finding the Salads' Cd in my mail box on Thursday afternoon made me very happy. The new J5 is very cool, thankyou for that also. So glad that I have the new Salads. I put it on right away.
I'm very sad that I didn't get to see them at the Office. Deffinetly the best place to see the Salads. Although I must say that I'm very very excited that I get to see them here in Whistler, in April. April 17th to be exact. I already e-mailed D and gave him my number. He said they'ed call me when they get in town and we are totally going to hook up! By the way my number is now in his phone book. How cool am I?? :)
A big congrats to The Salads and their success. They totally deserve this. I've been waiting for it to happen since the first time I heard the Salads Cd at the Zuul's. Fuckin' Amazing!!!!
Glad you guys had fun at the London show and I wish that you could all be here for the Whistler show. :P

Sorry Paula, they did not play XXX, BASTARDS!!
The show was smokin' alright - so smokin' that they set of all the fire alarms!!! Glad I made it, I was itching to see them - and I will be even MORE excited next time they don't do a show with all the kiddies around. I'll second that Finny... Go Salads Go!!!
