So last week we dropped the bomb with some great top 5 album selections. This week, in a similar vein, i would like to follow up with Top 5 Soundtracks, since they weren't allowed as choices last week, but are in themselves separate pieces that have to be viewed as a whole not only in the context of a movie, but top to bottom on an album release as well, while maintain some type of coherence or theme. The great ones do it oh so well, so we shall represent them here in a listing of their own.

Honourable Mentions: Black Hawk Down, Gladiator, Swingers, Snatch, Pulp Fiction.

Posted by: Paula on February 26, 2003 04:02 PMThe only soundtrack album I have ever owned was Forrest Gump. I figure that has enough songs to rate as my 1-5! ;)
Posted by: maddy on February 26, 2003 04:02 PMJust finished watching Oliver Stone's "The Doors".
For only the second time if you can believe???
With Finny's undying love for the band I am surprised to see that that soundtrack didn't even get an honourable mention...
The syncing of music to story line - lyric to action is amazing.
They did release a soundtrack didn't they???
I do own the "From Dusk 'til Dawn" soundtrack.
Fuckin' Fenomenol!!
The 2 ZZ tunes are spectacular!!

My top 5 Soundtracks are as follows;
1. Reality Bites - Ethan Hawk singing "Why can't I get just one kiss?"
2. Resevoir Dogs - A great CD! I love every song on it. It's great to listen to when you are getting ready to go out.
3. Fubar - I downloaded the entire soudtrack from Kazaa, especially for my White Trash party. It was the perfect CD for the occasion.
4. Moulin Rouge - Loved the movie, loved the Soundtrack!!!
5. Dazed and Confused - I have seen the movie soooo many times. I never get sick of it. Same with the classic soundtrack.
Honourable mentions: City of Angels, High Fedelity, Snatch, and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Posted by: scotty on February 25, 2003 09:25 AMUmmm:
Your picks were amazing Finn, I have no idea what else to add...but I'll throw in my two cents:
Oh Brother Where art thou. Bluegrass can be cool.
Rush Soundtrack - Clapton goes acoustic.
The Commitments Vol. 1&2. No explanation required.
Blues Brothers Soundtrack. Mmm Elwood. Mmm Jake.
SlingBlade - You must like Daniel Lanois Ambient guitar sounds. But it is pretty good...
Sleepy, High,
Al
