And a good day to you sir! A friendly neighbourhood blogger named Affy dropped by yesterday and posted up what many of you have been asking for and i have not been able to deliver as of yet since my video copy is like 50 megs, but here is the full Windows Media version of the Blue Oyster Cult - Behind the Music SNL skit, of which this site is completely inspired and named after, with Gene playing that cowbell like there's no tomorrow! Give it a spin and tell me it's not the funniest SNL sketch in existence - enjoy - Thanks Affy!
Posted by scotty at January 08, 2003 12:06 AMVideo can be seen at http://www.vimeo.com/clip:17746 . Grab it or www.Snag-it.com while you can as they are trying to remove it from from everywhere on the internet.
Posted by: ASMILINDOG on December 16, 2006 04:14 PMParsody is from the Blue oyster Cult song "Don't Fear the Reaper". They play this video on the big screen at Texas Stadium during halftime at the Dallas Cowboy games. The whole place goes nuts laughing.
Posted by: ASMILIINDOG on December 16, 2006 04:10 PMI was at an outdoor comedy show last night in MN and they had a really bad band and they started to do this same Blue Oyster Cult song and had this fat bald guy jumping around playing the cowbell..they paused for one second because they kept misreading the music or something so I yelled "I GOTTA HAVE MORE COWBELL!!". Most people didnt get it.
Posted by: wanda on July 13, 2006 02:18 PMI'm French-Canadian and all I can say is PLUS CLARINE!!!
Will Ferrell's hairy gut and that undersized shirt are ridiculously funny. And Walken, well, he's the cock of the walk baby. He puts his pants on one leg at a time, but when he's done, he makes gold records!
Y'all be wearing gold-plated diapers!!!
Posted by: Jeff on May 16, 2006 02:43 AMHey Fella's,,
I put my pants on one leg at a time, just like you.
But when my pants are on,,I make hit records..
Funny Stuff.
Walken and Ferrel are the best..
Stupid question - how do I download the clip??? I seem to only be able to view it, and I want to download it...thanks...

Posted by: wayne on January 27, 2006 04:08 PMThis IS by far THE funniest skit I have seen! I just love the way Will Farrell's shirt is way too small and his gut hangs over his too tight pants while he beats the hell out of that cowbell! Explore the space everyone! Avid SNL fan

I was at the Adams Avenue Street Fair, in San Diego, California last weekend. During the two-day event, about 80 bands played a handful of stages. As I walked by a group getting ready to start their next song, one of the group's members said into the mic "it needs more cowbell".
Having seen the skit, I broke out into laughter. It seems I was the only person in the crowd that got the joke. It definitely was one of the best skits ever on SNL.
I LOVE THIS SKIT!!! My dad loves Christopher Walken. He got the Best of Christopher Walken on SNL on DVD. It is one of the funniest things you will ever see on DVD. I even ordered a shirt that says "More Cowbell" on it. I love this skit. Even though a lot of people know this skit, it is still very unpopular. WE NEED TO SPREAD THE WORD!!! My dad and I watch that skit all the time. I show it to all my friends. "I gotta fever, and the only perscription is MORE COWBELL"!!! WALKEN RULES!!!
