Accountability

This is the one thing my boss says separates the men from the boys - accountability. And he's right. We have a self-serve photocopier out front of our storefront and it boggles the mind that a) even with specific directions clearly listed for paper placement and functionality that people mess up their own copies all day long, and b) when they do so, it is somehow the machine's fault, or worse, our fault (!), even though it specifically states that the customer is responsible for all copies made. If you can't or don't bother to read the posted directions and disclaimers, clearly printed in the English language, how does that still make us responsible for your stupidity and resulting mistakes? If i had a dollar for every time i hear "Do i have to pay for this one, it didn't turn out", or "I have 6 good copies and these 3 are garbage", I could retire at this very moment. We have to pay for every copy made from that machine, so it's either us or your dumb ass. Free copies for the next guy that comes up to me and says "I made seven copies - six good ones and one mistake." Accountability, people.

Shit, I mean in the hole, not whole. Duh.

Ooh, if I had to pay for all the bad copies I made at work, I'd be seriously in the whole. The downfall of the government: it teaches you to be unaccountable. Ironic, no?

P.S. 555-1212 as far as I know is the only real 555 #. If you put a 1 and an area code in front of it, you get the equivalent of 411 for whatever area code you put in. For example 1-617-555-1212 gives you the 411 in Boston. A very handy tool!

Heh. Morons. Why are they photocopying things when they obviously can't read! As for accountability, it's a bit like all the idiots that lose their loyalty cards and then complain that they've lost their credits along with them. And it's not even in fine print!
