Here we are at listing #12 - 3 solid months of making lists on Tuesday. I think it's the most organized i've ever been! This week we go back once again to where it all began and draw a topic from High Fidelity - Top 5 Records to Play on a Monday Morning. Ya, i know it's Tuesday, but you can put it into action next Monday and every week thereafter. Mondays have a certain vibe that needs catering to, and for me uplifting is definitely the way to start off the week and these cds help me struggle through Mondays on a regular basis. Several of them also apply to a lazy Sunday morning as well, maintaining the light vibe that is characteristic of a Sunday morning and so sorely required the next day.

K, I know it's Friday, but better late then never. This is the first time in over a week that I've been able to get on to the internet.
Here's my list:
1. Rage Against the Machine, Rage Against the Machine. Nothing like listening to angry music to get you going in the morning.
2. Weezer, Blue. It's a classic cult album. Always in regular rotation.
3. Incubus, any album. Each one has such a unique vibe and what's better then starting a Monday hearing Brandon Boyd's sexy voice.
4. Andy Sotchansky (sp?), 5 Star Motel. Just got this CD from my sister and got to see him live in Vancouver. It is a great CD. A combination of slow and groovy tunes.
5. Almost Famous Soundtrack. Great for any occasion. Some Fever Dog and Tiny Dancer, gotta love it!
Honourable mention: John Mayer, Room For Squares.

i don't know about listing 5, but i think Abbey Road takes the cake. perfect style, content and rhythm for monday morning.
Posted by: leblanc on November 5, 2002 02:27 PMSt. Germain - Tourist, started listening to this in B.C. I love this album.
Rusted Root - When I Woke, this was copied for me, thanks Scott. Great album, I don't think it has gone far from my stereo.
Sublime - 40 oz To Freedom, I have been a huge Sublime fan for years now. This album kicks ass. Thats all I have to say.
Del - Both Sides Of the Brain, everyone needs a little hiphop.
Sarah McLachlan - Mirrorball,
Posted by: Janelle on November 5, 2002 02:10 PMOh, I downloaded a Jason Mraz song 'So Unusual', after someone recommended him to me on the basis of me loving John Mayer. It wasn't too bad at all. :)
Posted by: maddy on November 5, 2002 04:58 AMInsomnia again...
Top 5 Right (in no order) NOW:
Jason Mraz - Various Bootlegs.
Saw this guy on Carson Daly a few weeks back investigated and dug 'im. Think Dave Matthews and John Mayer rolled into one but a little less serious and more of a Guster style percussive sound. Highly recommended. Check "0% Interest", "You and I both" and "1000 things", all great songs.
Ryan Adams - Demolition
The Sweet One loves his Ryan Adams.
Rhett Miller - Instigator
More of the alt-country vibe. "Come Around" is such a great song.
Beck - Sea Changes
"Lost Cause" is in the Rotation a lot. Even more of the Country vibe for Al... I'm sensing a trend.
Loveless - Go, Tonight
New Band from Boston. One of my heroes Jen Trynin (The female Matthew Sweet if you ask me) plays guitar and sings backup. Check LVLSS.com if inclined for downloads.
Honourable Mentions:
Andy Stochansky's - 5 Star Motel
Interpol
Bob Schneider
Dank Jones - Born a Lion
Gemma Hayes - Night on my side
Audioslave - If you haven't heard "Cochise" Download it now.
Mark Morrison - Return Of the Mack (Extended Remix) Funny anytime a la 526 Huron St London Ont Canada.
Almost Sleepy,
Al
Posted by: Sweet AL on November 5, 2002 03:37 AMThat was fun! My answers, of course, have been posted.
We used to get Morcheeba played at work, it's a good one. Do any Phantom Planet songs make the Rushmore soundtrack? And I love Little by Little. Noel Gallagher has some good stuff inside, me thinks. Who would have thought Oasis would last this long? Must go study now...
