Ok everyone, in honour of top 5 list # 5, we’re going back to an official High Fidelity listing here – top 5 dream jobs. This list is open to entries either real (present day jobs you’d ideally like to have) or literally “dream” jobs (can include jobs of the past that would have killed, like journalist at Rolling Stone from ’76-’79). State reasons if you like, or just let the job speak for itself. As long as the brain flips into dream mode for a few minutes this listing has accomplished it’s goal. Have fun! (Note: This listing is also for current personal therapeutic use and potential career changes.)

Posted by: Paula on September 17, 2002 02:41 PMJanelle, I was going to put "marry a rich man and never have to get a job", but then I realise that wouldn't be work for me, but for him it would be the hardest work of all. I think mabye Mandy is on the right track with "Rich Widow"! :p
I'm really a lovely girl, you know. :)
great job so far, guys. props to mandy for her "sweet bails" comment. i also dig that one of your dream occupations is to have a dead rich husband. is this a warning sign for future suitors?
ps - we should all get together and open a bar.

...ah to dream the dream
Way to go Finny, this is a great top 5! I always think about stuff like this.
1. Physiotherapist - This is actually what I want to do. I get a kick out of knowing how people function, how they move, and anyone who knows me well knows that I love injuries (I have a copy of Tanya's x-ray now). Being able to help someone to make a full or near recovery from their injury would be interesting and personally rewarding.
2. Adventure Tour Guide - What could be better than getting paid for mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, etc. It's something I LOVE to do and it's good for the mind, body, and spirit. Added perks: watching a bunch of novices who are scared shitless about what they are about to do (funny scene), sweet bails, and all the hottie adventure seekers who are relying on you to get them through their trip.
3. Professional Student - Call me crazy, but I could stay in school forever.
4. Photographer - You get to go to interesting places, meet interesting people, and actually see first hand all of those amazing scenes that people will be looking at while thinking to themselves - "wow, that's inspiring", or "I would love to do that", etc. (Photographer whose work I admire - Ansel Adams. Check it out sometime, if you haven't already done so.)
5. Clothing buyer for a bigass company - Big money, connections, a killer wardrobe, & business trips to Paris, Milan, & New York. Need I say more?
honorable mentions - leg model (all you do is stand there, I'm game), pub/bar owner, rich widow.
Posted by: Mandy on September 17, 2002 11:18 AMOk I'm up for this one...
1. Professional Musician: To make enough to live comfortably by doing this only, touring the world in support of my own music and collaborating with established and up and coming musicians for various recordings. Like this one was a surprise!
2. Tour Guitar Player: Session Gigs, going on the road non-stop playing with different solo artists...ie Amanda Marshal, John Mayer, Lenny Kravitz
3. NHL Hockey Player: Money , love for the competition, puck bunnies! Go Leafs Go....Boo Islanders Boo.
4. Porn Star: Sex, more sex & some money
5. Race Car Driver: Probably Nascar like days of thunder...to be able to drive that fast and get paid for it would be sureal.
Honourable mention goes to owning a cool pub/bar/restaurant or some sort of internet idea that I sold for millions to Microsoft or Amazon.
....ah to dream the dream.
