Expen$ive Cat

This article was in the London Free Press today. A couple is suing Air Canada for 5 million for losing their cat on a flight to San Fran. A couple of disturbing facts are mentioned here, including 5000 animals yearly lost or killed by airline industry, and liability is usually around $14 per pound, as if your pet was just some lost luggage. This is pretty insane. A friend of mine also had a cat lost by the airline and after several stressful days, was luckily found and in perfect health. I hope this lawsuit succeeds and the airlines get their heads out of their asses and start treating animal passengers with a lot more TLC.

If an airline lost my cat, I'd sue their asses off alright. In fact, I'd probably kill the lot of them and end up in court myself. I'm not sure I'd call in a psychic, though. But damn, how do you lose an animal on an aeroplane?
