Inaugural Top 5 Tuesday

As a tribute to one of my fave movies of all-time, High Fidelity, (book still to come), i am going to start posting into a new category - Top 5 Tuesdays. Feel free to take the list topic over to your own blog and answer it, or comment here, or both! Maybe i'll make a cool little GIF for next week's listing. I'm sure this has been done many times before, but hey, everyone loves a good list, right?

We'll start off with a good topic from the movie, filled in with my answers of course. These were so much harder to choose than i thought, so a few honourable mentions are allowable at the end. These are more than just good songs - they set the tone for an album with an energy or vibe that is unmatched, right from the drop of the needle (or pressing of "Play").

Top 5 Side 1s, Track 1s (for cds just track 1!)

1. Drum Trip/Ecstasy - Rusted Root (When I Woke)
2. Red Hot Mama - Funkadelic (Standing on the Verge of Getting It On)
3. Good to See You - Neil Young (Silver & Gold)
4. Pagan Baby - CCR (Pendulum)
5. Break on Through - The Doors (The Doors)

Honourable Mention: Baba O'Riley - The Who, Rock N' Roll Star - Oasis, Sure Shot - Beastie Boys, Suite: Judy Blue Eyes - CSN, Run Around - Blues Traveler.

In honour of this first entry, and of John Cusack in general, i also took the John Cusack quiz. The results, as you can see, are quite fitting.

Mandy that is totally you. these quizzes are so accurate - how do they do it? nice top 5 as well. noticing a preference for some Weezer and DMB. all good.

Well... I took the quiz. And I'm Walter "Gib" Gibson from "The Sure Thing". I've never seen the movie, but it sounds like me... don't you think? Spontaneous. Crazy. Adept at slacking (and finding interesting ways to guzzle beer).

Ok, my brain is now working and I have come up with a Top 5 list. They are in no particular order. This list could be subject to change upon realization of other Side 1 Number 1 songs.
Here goes:
1. Redfine - Incubus, S.C.I.E.N.C.E.
2. Rebel Yell - Billy Idol, Rebel Yell
3. My name is Jonas - Weezer, Blue
4. The Birdman - Our Lady Peace, Naveed
5. So Much To Say - Dave Matthews Band, Crash
So there you have it! My Top 5 for this Tuesday's list!

Way to tired right now to come up with a great top 5 list. Long story, no need to get in to it here. But, I did take the John Cusak quiz and strangly enough I too am Rob Gordon from High Fidelity. Funny how that is my most favorite John Cusack character. Hmmmmmm! Interesting. I will come back with a top 5, once my brain begins to work again.
